12 Steps to Success
You don’t have to do it on your own!
Our 2012 Steps to Success programme continues with inspirational speaker
Jim Harvey
(often heard – seldom seen)
‘’…Almost all successful people surround themselves with people who can do things they can’t do and who know things they don’t know.’’
Most business people rely on ‘virtual’ teams because 57% of UK GDP is generated by us small businesses. So how can we, as the driving force behind the SME’s, add wisdom, guile and breadth to our ‘inner circle’?
Do you do everything in your business yourself?
What does this do to your chances of growth?
Do you make a conscious effort to surround yourself with people who know things you don’t know and can do things you can’t do?
How do you use their skills and knowledge?
Jim Harvey Biography-
You’ll probably never have heard of me, unless you’ve read an article, heard me speak or been on one on my courses. I’ve been busy running my own consulting and retail businesses since I was 25, and at this stage in my life (47 and knackered), I’m also an advisor to some great firms large and small.
I’ve been pitching products, ideas and services for my clients and myself and for 22 years. I’ve helped firms flog cars, consultancy services, insurance, irradiated food, intellectual property and a fantastic range of pretty much everything that you can imagine in modern commercial life.
I’ve taken 2 businesses from startup to sale, and still run 3 small businesses today. My current clients include Capita, RSA Insurance, JPMorgan, Mercer, RBS, Grifols International (Spain), Matrix Control Solutions, Vodafone, Brtivic, and many more.
I’m a speechwriter, marketer, trainer and father of 3 boys. I live in Oundle, Northants, and I work all over Europe for my clients. I love rugby, poetry and food. Preferably combined in some way. Blog- www.jim-harvey.com
